Development and performance of a position-sensitive proportional avalanche counter tracking system
Most of our current understanding in nuclear physics has come from using stable targets and beams. Stable nuclei represent only a small fraction of the total nuclei that can exist, but do not exhibit many of the exotic proprieties seen in nuclei far from stability, such as halos [1]. The ability to study unstable nuclei has opened up a vast new range of physics to be explored. The decay of thes...
متن کامل2D position sensitive microstrip sensors with charge division along the strip_ Studies on the position measurement error
Position sensitivity in semiconductor detectors of ionizing radiation is usually achieved by the segmentation of the sensing diode junction in many small sensing elements read out separately as in the case of conventional microstrips and pixel detectors. Alternatively, position sensitivity can be obtained by splitting the ionization signal collected by one single electrode amongst more than one...
متن کاملThe C.A.T. Pixel Proportional Gas Counter Detector
A simple geometry of real pixel gas detectors has been evaluated that circumvents the limitations of a microstrips, namely aging, gain drift and flux limitation due to the dielectric charging. A good resolution has been obtained while preserving a large active size and a high gain and counting rate capabilities.
متن کاملThe position of homeopathy in the world
Although homeopathy have been discovered 230 years ago by Dr Samuel Hahnemann but only scientific view has begun only since 25 years. Currently homeopathy has been integrated into the national health care systems of many countries, including India, Mexico, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the United Kingdom. In the World Health Organization report about alternative medicine that published in 2001, we n...
متن کاملInvestigation of Chevron Cathode Pads for Position Encoding in Very High Rate, Gas Proportional Chambers*
New techniques for position encoding in very high rate particle and photon detectors will be required in experiments planned for future particle accelerators such as the Superconducting Super Collider and new, high intensity, synchrotron sources. We are carrying out a detailed theoretical and experimental study of a position interpolation technique in which a row of chevron shaped cathode pads ...
